Here’s what the people of Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas are saying about Better Bedtime and their sleep consultant services.

Happy Better Bedtime Clients

Anybody would be happy with more, higher quality sleep but these clients of Better Bedtime are especially happy because BOTH they and their child are getting the rest they need.

5-Month-Old Sleep Training

Parents’ Initial Concern:

She falls asleep pretty easily, but wont stay asleep.

Up every hour or two and weighs 12 lbs. Needs to be rocked or fed back to sleep. Sometimes it’s easy to get her back down, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes she just wants to be awake for an hour and chat.

Parents’ Review After Sleep Training:

Heidi was so wonderful at helping our family tackle the sleep issues we were experiencing with our 5 month old. She was kind, supportive, informative and responsive. We truly can’t thank her enough. If you are on here reading reviews (like I was) contemplating whether or not to use Better Bedtime…DO IT! The absolute best decision we made for our family.

11-Month-Old Sleep Training

Parents’ Initial Concern:

He wakes anywhere from 8:30-10:00 pm – we will try to check on him, check his diaper and put him back down. 50/50 he will fall back asleep after his song (we will sing it again if we had to change his bum). If he doesn’t fall asleep right away he will fuss anywhere from 20 – 60 minutes before falling back asleep.

He will wake again between 1:30am and 3:00am (at this time we give him a bottle, we’ve tried to remove this feeding which resulted in him not going back to sleep at all). This time is such a toss up, he will either fall sleep great after being changed and having his bottle or he will literally stay awake for 60 – 90 minutes. We have tried everything – co-sleeping, snuggling till he falls asleep, gradually leaving the room, just letting him cry, trying a new room.

We’re feeling pretty useless/lost right now. We restarted trying sleep training, we’ve tried other techniques that worked with our other children. Just feeling defeated.

Parents’ Review After Sleep Training:

The results of Bridget’s help has been way better than we could have ever hoped. Our expectations were far exceeded in both cases. Bridget is so understanding, supportive, and friendly! She never judged me for all the “sleep mistakes” all the literature seemed to blame me for. I have asked her A LOT of questions over the years and I am so very grateful for her knowledge and patience!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Bridget!!!

6-Month-Old Sleep Training

Parents’ Initial Concern:

I love breastfeeding. I worked really hard to be able to breastfeed and I don’t want to give it up. I may be returning to work sooner rather than later, in which case she will be in childcare. Currently if most other people try to put her to sleep, she screams for 45 min. She needs to be able to settle for naps and (sigh) I guess also nighttime in her crib (in our room, we don’t have space for her crib elsewhere).

Parents’ Review After Sleep Training:

If you are reading this and trying to decide if you want to seek sleep help for your baby, we definitely recommend Better Bedtimes and specifically Bridget to help you reach your sleep goals. Our daughter was 5 ½ months old when we reached out to Better Bedtimes. We had been running on an average of 4-5 hours of sleep a night for months as our daughter had GERD. Although she was now medicated and feeling better, she still relied on nursing and rocking to get to sleep every 2 hours and often woke at 4am and would not go back to sleep. We were hesitant to start this process as we did not want to have our baby simply ‘cry it out.’ We decided to have Bridget come to the house and help us the first night which I highly recommend if you are as nervous as we were. She explained the whole process, listened to our concerns and her methods were gentle, inclusive of our input and we took it at our own pace. Bridget frequently checked in as the days went by and was always there to listen or offer advice and encouragement when we needed it. We saw positive results pretty quickly with our daughters sleep and Bridget stuck with us until we were comfortable and assured us that she would always be just an email away if we ever needed her. Thanks Bridget!

3.5-Year Old Twins Sleep Training

Parents’ Initial Concern:

They get out of bed 10+ times before they will stay in bed. They then request blanket adjustments, water, hugs.  There is a lot of running out of bed and requests.

Throughout the night, they fall asleep at 8pm or later, with 6+ night wakenings (need blanket adjustments, hugs, need to go to the potty). They will call or run in every 15 minutes for a few hours (they are not falling asleep during this time).

The biggest challenge is cooperation at bedtime, won’t stay in bed, night wakings, needs you in order to go back to sleep, early wakings, isn’t easy to get down for a nap, gets overtired easily.

Parents’ Review After Sleep Training:

Bridget was a pleasure to work with. She helped us with our 8 month old and 3.5 year olds. Her strategies worked very well!! Bridget is very patient and understanding and got to know our kids habits very well. Her knowledge and ability to tailor sleeping schedules for both of our children was phenomenal. Thanks so much Bridget!

8-Month-Old Sleep Training

Parents’ Story:

My baby was waking up every 2 hours throughout the night at 8 months and could only fall back asleep nursing. It was brutal. After 2 months I couldn’t do it anymore. I reached out to Bridget and she changed our family’s lives. Not only is my baby now able to fall asleep on her own, she is also sleeping through the night with no more night feedings!

8-Month-Old Sleep Training

Parents’ Story:

We were unsure as to whether we really needed a sleep consultant to get our 8 month old daughter sleeping through the night. She was a “sometimes” problem sleeper who could sleep well at times, but was always changing it up on us. After talking to Bridget at Better Bedtime she was totally right about asking ourselves “could it be better”? The answer was yes! We signed up for her services and she put together a perfect package for us and our lifestyle.

She didn’t try to upsell us or convince us we needed more than a basic framework to get our daughter into a consistent routine with her bedtime. The framework also worked on naps which honestly was a bonus for us! Bridget took the time to walk us through everything in detail and during those first few days was so quick to respond to our e-mails and chat on the phone when things came up we just weren’t sure how to handle. There were so many good examples or common scenarios we went through which was very helpful heading into and during our sleep training. Within 3 nights we noticed a significant improvement in our daughter’s sleep and we haven’t looked back since. Naps took a bit longer to lengthen out but it’s been 6 weeks and our lives are entirely different. Our daughter sleeps, generally without fail, 10-11 hours straight at night.

Even with small questions we had Bridget was always available and reassuring during the process which made all the difference. We are so happy as a family to have invested in Better Bedtime’s services and highly recommend them to anyone, even if your baby’s sleep challenges seem minor. Could I have survived myself getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night? Probably. Has consistently getting 6-8 hours of sleep a night made my life better? Definitely! I’m finally back to some “me” time in the evenings and a bit of late night TV without worrying that I’ll be up in the middle of the night.
